When pressures must be swiftly released to prevent harm from system overpressure, utilize these valves for emergency relief. When the overpressure needs to be controlled more gradually, such as in back pressure or pump bypass applications, use our back-pressure/bypass valves. When relief valves are selected for pressure control applications, this will reduce the possibility of pressure spikes, which frequently occur.
Stainless Steel High Pressure Relief Valves
Use these valves for emergency relief when pressures need to be promptly released to minimize damage that could be caused by system overpressure. Use our Stainless Steel High Pressure Relief Valves where the overpressure needs to be regulated more gradually, such as in back pressure or pump bypass applications. This will lessen the likelihood of pressure spikes that frequently happen when relief valves are chosen for pressure control applications.
The installation of Stainless Steel High Pressure Relief Valves
High Pressure Relief in Stainless Steel Valves can function in any position or orientation, including vertical, horizontal, and other configurations, as long as they are accessible for adjusting.
The safety relief valve should only be used in specific circumstances where the materials selected are compatible with the fluid being used and won't result in corrosive buildup, crystallization, or solidification in the small clearances between the piston and body bore, which might prevent the poppet from opening freely. Use only pure, strained (#20 mesh minimum), or filtered liquids or gases to prevent the valve from becoming clogged with debris or solids, which could lead to a malfunction.
Avoid placing the valve in an area where it may freeze, and if you must, take safety precautions by heating or insulating the valve and piping to prevent freezing.
The working principle of Stainless Steel High Pressure Relief Valves
A poppet and spring relief valve, which shuts off the inlet port from the output port at the valve seat by constantly opposing the pressure pressing against the poppet. By compressing the spring until the spring force is sufficient to balance the pressure force working against the poppet, the appropriate set pressure or relief is attained. The poppet will open to release the extra pressure if the inlet pressure rises above the desired pressure.
